What Does It Include?

The Procession

Imagine hundreds of students, dressed in colorful traditional attire, participating in the procession to welcome Lord Ganesha. Faculty members and non-teaching staff also join in, creating a grand and lively atmosphere. The decoration of the procession is thoughtfully designed by students and staff, following a specific theme and ensuring that the rituals are properly observed.

The Execution

From ensuring that all daily prayer necessities are in place to organizing and conducting competitions on campus, every detail is managed by the students and staff together. This process provides students with valuable lessons in organization, execution, and team-building—qualities that Lord Ganesha, the Vighnaharta (remover of obstacles), teaches through this festival.

The Devotion

The festival is filled with devotion, and there are numerous awards and prizes to be won each day. This includes prizes for the best dancers (boys and girls), best-dressed participants, and many exciting on-the-spot prizes!

The Events

Each day is marked by a variety of competitions held across three main categories:

  • Technical events
  • Cultural events
  • Sports events
The Visarjana

After a week of blessings, fun, and celebration, the procession moves towards the Visarjana (immersion) ceremony. Despite the sadness of bidding farewell to Lord Ganesha, the same procession that welcomed him performs the rituals of Visarjana. The faith and belief that Ganesha will return next year give strength and hope to all devotees.
